Trip Cancellation/Interruption
An insured may recover loss of pre-paid, non-refundable and unused payments when a trip is cancelled or interrupted for one of the following reasons:
- Illness, injury or death to the insured, a family member or travel companion
- Financial default of a travel supplier
- A terrorist incident
- Organized labor strike
- Natural disasters or bad weather resulting in complete cessation of services by a travel supplier
- Hijacked or medical quarantine by a governmental health authority
- Jury duty
- Homemade uninhabitable by fire, windstorm, flood, or vandalism
- Traffic accident en route to a scheduled departure point
- Cancelled scheduled leave for active duty armed forces, police or firefighters when the leave is revoked within 10 days of departure
